Government of Canada says that today, almost every department and agency must deal with global challenges, using new tools and asking people to work in new ways - in integrated teams, often across organizational boundaries. Enterprise Architecture enables government to work faster and more collaboratively. Therefore To do this they have TOGAF 9 in their "GC EA Community of Practice" toolkit.
The GC EA Community of Practice uses TOGAF 9 to enable a common vocabulary and taxonomy in the architecture work. They also use it to get re-usable GC-wide reference models, policy instruments and standards applied to inform / align architecture work products.
TOGAF 9 is one of the tools in their toolkit, along with the Zachman Framework among others.
