"We at Biner are a happy and active group who like challenges, both privately and in working life"

Soon it's time for Stafettvasan and on 28 February it's time. Henrik Attefors, CEO of Biner Academy, and one of the participants in Team Biner talk about why Biner is on the starting line.

Why should Biner line up with a team in Stafettvasan?

We at Biner are a happy and active group who like challenges, both privately and in working life. We have previously lined up in Toughest and when we presented this idea a little more than a year ago, everyone was excitedly curious about how it would go. Some in the group have done the Vasaloppet before, but for many it was a very long time since they went cross-country skiing and some had never tested.

What has the training plan looked like for the team during the autumn?

We started with a test trip together in Sälen last spring. Since then, together with Aktivitus nice and skilled coaches, we have run joint technical training sessions once a month in Skidome.

Which tips do you take with you from the joint training?

Our coach Ullis is very good and we get many good tips with us from every training session. Something that helps me is to think about trying to find a rhythm, have a high hip, look where I want to go, work with my feet and poles in curves and the more you train the better it goes 😊

Finally, what does your own training before the race look like?

I try to find and create opportunities to get out on the cross-country skis as often as possible. The snow situation in the Gothenburg area this year has made it a bit tricky, so every time I walk past a cross-country training machine in the gym, I spend some extra time at it.
